Faculty of Transport and Communications

Why choose studying at the Faculty of Transport and Communications?

The Faculty of Transport and Communications was founded in 1977. In the past 40 years, it has acquired the status of a leading educational and scientific institution in the area of transport and transport engineering and information and communication technologies. The educational process is implemented in line with Bologna principles within two departments and six courses. Curricula and programmes in all the three study cycles are of the 3 + 2 + 3 system and permanently upgraded and innovated in order to monitor the demands and needs of the modern traffic and communications systems.

The process of education is organised in such a way that the students, besides theoretical, also obtain practical knowledge through laboratory practicals, field research and compulsory professional practice.  Students have the opportunity to participate in the development of research and development projects as well as international programmes of strategic interest for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Faculty of Traffic and Communications undertakes and supports all actions aimed at ensuring the mobility of teachers and students at the national and international level, establishing regional co-operation and inclusion in European educational and scientific research processes. At the same time, it is being internally built and improved by means of special care for the student standard, comfortable working environment and adequate equipment for a smooth implementation of the teaching-scientific process.

What after completing the studies?

Faculty of Transport and Communications graduates, depending on the cycle of studies completed, obtain one of the following titles: Bachelor Engineer of Traffic and Communications, Master of Traffic and Communications – Graduated Engineer of Traffic and Communications, PhD – Doctor of Technical Sciences.

Due to a significant interdisciplinarity of the study programmes, our faculty members are profiled for a very wide range of activities that include transport, transport engineering and information communication systems in the domain of management, technological planning and design, organisation and economics. Our graduates are accepted in many countries of the world, and many have built remarkable careers and launched a successful business.

Employment opportunities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the neighbouring countries are also numerous in public and private companies, in executive and legislative institutions at all levels, as well as in research-orientedand educational institutions.
